When a finite collection of individual (i.e. path-related) objects is infinitesimally sectioned by an affine plane, two geometric sampling effects occur
. Firstly, there is a sampling bias depending on the size of the sectioned object: the probability of a given object being intercepted by the sectioning plane depends on the size of that object
