1. Microgravity laboratories

The law of gravity was first set out by Sir Isaac Newton, the English physicist and astronomer, in 1684. According to Newton, every massive body has its own gravitational field (or field of gravity), which is responsible for exerting an attractive force on other massive bodies. The gravitational force exerted by one body on another is proportional to the body’s mass and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between those two bodies. This means that, the greater the mass of the body, the more gravity it exerts. And the further it is from another body, the less gravity it exerts upon that body.

On Earth, the direction of gravity is constant. Thus in any given place, all free bodies fall toward the ground.
