1. Grey water flow and composition
Grey water (GW) is defined as domestic wastewater (DHW), excluding water containing urine and faeces, which is referred to as black water (BW). This definition therefore includes water from bathtubs, showers and washing machine effluent.
It should be noted, however, that in some publications, kitchen water is included in grey water.
The choice of a type of graywater recycling process, as well as its sizing, depend on three main factors:
flows and composition of the effluent to be treated;
the process application perimeter: in the case of in situ recycling, this zone may be that of the individual or collective dwelling, or even the neighborhood;
