 INTRODUCTION

The term "specific treatments" is used to describe treatments involving several techniques and processes, which are becoming increasingly widespread. These include :

  • calco-carbonic equilibrium, sometimes considered a luxury, but now seriously revitalized, since we are more concerned about consumer comfort (scaled machines, etc.), the longevity of pipes (corrosion, incrustation, etc.), and new health problems such as lead;

  • Extensive natural pre-treatments that limit the need for other treatments;

  • treatment of treatment by-products.

We'll also say a few words about the progress made in automating analytical measurements, particularly when applied directly to processing.

The complete study of the subject includes the articles :

  • C 5 198 - Distribution water. Purpose of treatment ;

  • C 5 199 - Distribution water. Clarification ;

  • C 5 200 - Distribution water. Unitary treatment ;

  • C 5 201 - Tap water. Specific treatments (this article).
