1.1 Objectives

The objectives of the monitoring plan are manifold:

  • monitor the absence of quality deterioration over time (in addition to general preventive measures);

  • know the evolution of impacts (over time and space) ;

  • understand what is happening or what could happen: direction of water flow, pollutants present, extent of pollution, degradation or fate of pollutants;

  • guide the actions that need to be taken (source management, impact control, restrictions on use);

  • check that the situation is well managed and under control (make sure that the work carried out achieves the objectives set);
