4. Finally, is Green IT a reality in organizations?
In conclusion, the development of the Green IT market is very real, even if organizations are only just becoming aware of the subject and are for the moment mainly focused on Green IT 1.0 projects. The most frequently encountered actions are energy indicator management for some, and strategy definition and maturity analysis for others, in order to plan their actions over the next few years.
At the same time, the community of Green IT players is federating and structuring itself: the Alliance Green IT (AGIT) has just been created to further promote eco-responsible IT orientations. ADEME and CIGREF have produced a sector guide to ICT GHG assessments in France, providing organizations with a benchmark against which to measure their performance. This standard was published in February 2012 (see [Doc. G 8 385]).
