2. ICPE nomenclature
ICPE legislation applies to all facilities, whether operated or owned, private or public, temporary or permanent, whose activities meet the definitions set out in the nomenclature of classified facilities.
2.1 Definitions
Certain industrial facilities are therefore considered to be likely to cause a nuisance to the environment (Book V, Title 1 er of the French Environment Code). These facilities are listed in a nomenclature which, for each type of activity, assigns a heading number and thresholds that determine the regulatory requirements applicable to the facility.
