3. Regenerators

Regenerators are the essential elements for establishing the regeneration of manufactured products in the technical sphere. Diez et al. have identified four regenerators, one for each economic sector and one for nature. Their aim is to separate waste from its environment, restoring its value and reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill. Each regenerator is named with the prefix "Dé", to refer to separation, and a suffix referring to the level at which separation takes place. The regenerators identified are as follows:
