3. Regulatory and environmental aspects

With the publication of the RT2000 and, more recently, the RT2012 (RT stands for Réglementation Thermique, or thermal regulation) applicable to the construction of new housing, the use of thermal insulation has become essential in the home.

At the same time, the tightening of obligations applied to industrial facilities, particularly in terms of GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions, has also led to the massive use of thermal insulation.

Faced with all these demands, it was necessary to build a regulatory framework that would enable insulation products to be compared with each other, as well as defining the characteristics, calculation and implementation of thermal insulation solutions.
