N approach–1/N+1

Traceability concept designed to combine information concerning both the direct and direct-only suppliers, and the direct and direct-only customers, of a stakeholder.

N-1 traceability is the set of procedures and tools implemented by a stakeholder in the food supply chain to identify direct suppliers and raw materials. N+1 traceability, on the other hand, concerns all the procedures and tools put in place by a stakeholder to identify direct customers and products supplied.
