3. Conclusion

Isotopic analysis is a powerful tool for checking wine authenticity. This tool is all the more effective when it is based on a database of authentic samples and/or a comparison between a control sample and a suspect sample. New applications of NMR are opening up new avenues in food control, as are new couplings such as liquid chromatography with IRMS spectrometry: profiles or isotope ratios are markers of wine authenticity.
