5. Conclusion: trace law in the making
Traceability law is still in its infancy. Two revolutions have shaken things up: the first is technical. The first is technical, with the Internet of Things and systems such as blockchain being heralded as inviolable, and the second is legal, with the so-called reliable audit trail approach.
The Internet of Things has turned out to be the revolution after the (classic) Internet. This is not Internet 3.0 (semantic web), but rather what we call the world of connected objects, augmented reality, or even the metaverse.
Today, almost all objects are connected to each other. As a result, the question of traceability is now omnipresent, since traceability is "native".
As soon as objects are connected to each other via the Internet or equivalent technology, the trace is omnipresent.
