4.1 Create, copy and modify a calculation method
Developments in methodology, regulations or standards, the objectives of the LCA, the indicators defined as strategic for the company, etc. may lead the practitioner to use his own method for calculating the environmental impact of the product studied.
Practitioners can either create their own panel of indicators from the twenty or so environmental impact calculation methods available in SimaPro, or create their own indicators (using, for example, standards defining specific characterization factors).
