1. Micro-UAV typology
In this section, we describe some of the aerial platforms that have been used to robotize micro-aircraft. A microaircraft (or microdrone) can be defined as an autonomous flying machine with a wingspan of less than 0.15 m, a mass of less than 100 g, and a flight autonomy of at least 15 min. Faced with such constraints, many academic research laboratories are currently developing original aerial platforms (albeit generally much larger in size, and above all heavier) to explore the possibilities of micro-UAV robotization. Indeed, the knowledge acquired on full-scale aircraft and current UAVs cannot immediately be transposed to ultra-miniaturized flying machines.
