 INTRODUCTION

Thanks to their ability to detect, recognize and size isolated defects in a material, as well as to estimate its microstructural characteristics and properties of use, non-destructive testing techniques are essential tools for assessing product quality.

In the first part, the basic principles, implementation conditions and fields of application of techniques using ionizing radiation and ultrasound were presented. This second part is devoted to electromagnetic eddy current, Barkhausen noise and incremental permeability methods, as well as surface inspection methods including magnetic particle and leakage flux techniques, penetrant testing techniques, automated optical inspection techniques and infrared thermography techniques.
