Permanent magnet yoke

Equipment comprising two magnetic north and south poles which, spaced apart and applied to the test surface, induce a true DC magnetic field in the area of the part located between the two poles.

Circular magnetization

A magnetization technique in which current is passed through the part to be inspected from one end to the other, generating a circular magnetic field and enabling longitudinal discontinuities to be detected. This type of magnetization can also be obtained with a threaded conductor.

Longitudinal magnetization

Magnetization whose magnetic field lines are essentially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the part to be inspected, enabling transverse discontinuities to be detected.

Multidirectional magnetization...
