Dissipativity ; Dissipativité
Dissipativity characterizes the susceptibility of a material to degrade mechanical energy into heat.
Endurance limit; Limite d'endurance
This is the stress value below which it is considered that the part will not break by fatigue convention for a very large number of cycles (10 million cycles, for example).
Characteristic threshold of a granular material; Seuil caractéristique d'un matériau granulaire
Under increasing (or cyclic) load below the characteristic threshold, the granular material contracts (resulting in reversible elastic contraction and irreversible contracting); above it expands (resulting in reversible elastic expansion and irreversible expansion).
