2. Controlling the adhesion measurement process: a multi-faceted challenge
The challenges inherent in controlling the skid resistance measurement process are manifold, and involve a number of players to varying degrees: airfield managers; airlines; insurance companies; users; manufacturers of skid resistance measurement equipment; service providers in charge of skid resistance testing, and so on.
It should enable us to refine our knowledge of a pavement's skid resistance, and is a key stage in an infrastructure manager's decision-making process when it comes to planning works and managing safety.
