Overview
FrançaisABSTRACT
Noise is a source of risk in almost all machines. The protection of individuals against noise nuisances involves a certain number of regulatory measures which have become, over the years, European. These constraints are linked to the nature of the issue encountered and the final risk incurred. This article details the various measurement methods associated to each type of nuisance on a workstation, in the environment of industrial buildings and building machines. The standards and regulations govern both the design of the measuring instruments as their usage. This article also presents the solutions to be applied to machines and premises and allowing for reducing noise in the industrial environment.

INTRODUCTION
Protecting people from noise pollution involves a number of regulatory measures depending on the nature of the problem encountered:
workplace nuisances and the risk of long-term deafness ;
environmental noise and neighborhood annoyance.
These standards and regulations govern both the design and use of measuring equipment.
In this text, which follows on from "Industrial acoustic measurements. Part 1", we look at measurement methods. Finally, we present the physical principles involved in reducing noise in industrial environments by treating machines or premises.

The standard is the result of a consensual process and in-depth reflection by the experts involved.
There are four main types of standards:
fundamental standards ;
specification standards, which set product characteristics and performance thresholds;
