3. Features and performance

The physical characteristics measured are the concentration and size distribution of particles or droplets (depending on the medium to be analyzed). The device can also be used to measure mean diameter, maximum diameter, standard deviation, etc. (general characteristics are given in table 2 ).

All data is continuously stored, facilitating monitoring, control and analysis.

At the current stage of development, two types of media can be analyzed routinely:

  • suspensions: solid particles in a liquid or gaseous medium;

  • emulsions: liquid particles in a liquid medium.
