5. High-level pulse calibration

The study of pyrotechnic systems in space or for the automotive industry (airbags) has led to the development of high-level shock sensors, and consequently to the development of calibration methods for these sensors. The high-level range extends from 100,000 to 1,000,000 m · s –2 , with shock durations ranging from 0.5 to 0.1 ms. Calibration methods are derived from those for average shocks. The acquisition and processing parts may be common to both medium and high-level calibration benches, with only the shock generation differing.
