3. Accelerometer classification
In a first classification, the non-seismic mass-stabilized linear acceleration sensors (or accelerometers) most commonly used for vibration analysis are listed according to the physical principle used to detect the motion of the seismic mass. The list given in 3.1 is not exhaustive, but most of the physical phenomena involved are presented.
