1. IPFA categories
A measuring instrument must provide a high level of metrological protection so that all parties involved can have confidence in the measurement result. It must be designed and manufactured to a high standard of metrological technology and measurement data security.
The solutions adopted with regard to requirements take into account the intended use of the instrument and any foreseeable misuse.
The different IPFA categories are :
instruments delivering discrete quantities of product, by successive weighing, and whose mass has been predetermined; these are weight dosers (or bagging machines) (§ 3
