5. Conclusion

Today, multi-robot SLAM aims to be extended to more complex environments, in particular dynamic environments, for example in the presence of humans, or with moving elements in the environment requiring regular updating of the constructed map.

The other major challenge in the years to come will be to extend multi-robot 3D mapping by using 3D cameras and heterogeneous robots, such as drones to support ground robots. Recent work in the U.S. has demonstrated the possibility of coordinating large fleets of UAVs, using location with site equipment. .
