Overview
ABSTRACT
This article presents an overview of the techniques and technologies used to capture and interact in a virtual environment. Sensors able to obtain a position or an orientation -or both- are presented. We present the sensors with regard to the used technology (mechanical, electromagnetic, optical or hybrid). A particular "low-cost" section is also presented as well as solutions for locating the body entirely. Finally, the different control interfaces solutions are presented.

INTRODUCTION
The aim of this article is to present the state-of-the-art in techniques and technologies used to obtain the position and/or orientation, in real time, of an object in a given space. In virtual reality, but also in mixed reality, this information is used to know the position of a part of the user's body (head, hand, etc.) or its orientation, the position of the body as a whole, or the position of a solid object manipulated by the user. Knowledge of the position and orientation of these elements can then be used to adapt the system's behavior or the position of virtual entities in relation to each other, depending on the respective positions of the objects being tracked.
