1.1 THz frequency range
THz radiation is a spectral range situated between electronics, where phenomena are governed mainly by thermal energy (k.T >> h.ν), and photonics, governed by photon energy (h.u >> k.T). This frequency range is also referred to as "T" waves.
The terahertz frequency range (1 THz = 10 12 Hz) can be broadly defined as extending from 0.1 to 10 THz, corresponding to wavelengths of 30 to 3,000 µm.
Some authors have a more restricted definition: 0.3 to 3 THz (100 µm to 1000 µm), corresponding to the sub-millimeter range. The part of the range below 1 THz is often referred to as "sub-THz".
