6. Simulator
6.1 PID identification
In this particular case, it was necessary to compare two control laws a priori, hence the need to set up a simulator of the open-loop process, then a simulator with the current controllers (which therefore had to be identified), and another simulator with an Advanced Control law (Predictive Control) in order to make an objective comparison of the performance of these two controls.
It may seem strange at first sight to "identify a PID controller" that is supposedly known. This is not the case, because, contrary to what one might think :
PID control diagrams are always specific (documentation!);
their parameters and variables are subject to multiple, not always...
