Since they first appeared, oxygen consumption calorimeters have come into widespread use in many fields.
3.1 Normative/regulatory framework
Currently, in the building and public transport sectors (aviation, marine and rail), the legal and/or regulatory framework dealing with fire safety is based on a prescriptive approach. The fire performance of products placed on the market must be assessed. This assessment is carried out using calorimeters.
