Gilding processes are numerous and have evolved considerably over the centuries . By gilding, we mean any process that replaces the visible surface of an object, or part of it, with a surface with a gilded appearance. This includes everyday terms such as plating, for example, but also the surface application of a gold alloy whose color can be assimilated at first glance to a golden color, even if it differs from that of pure gold.
