1. Calibration method

AVAPs are calibrated using the gravimetric method described in ISO 8655-6 . The method is based on determining volume at a temperature of 20°C by weighing pure water, under defined environmental conditions.

The mass of the liquid volume is determined from the indication of a weighing instrument, taking air buoyancy into account, and is converted into volume by the density of water. In this way, metrological traceability of the volume is achieved by using the physical quantity "mass" as a reference standard.
