1. Logistics dimensioning in general

1.1 Definition

Sizing is the process of calculating the normal or optimum dimensions of a thing. Logistics dimensioning applies mainly to industrial sites and logistics platforms.

A sizing study is a quantitative flow study used to quantify the requirements of a non-existing operation as it is to be modified.

Sizing is mainly based on the number of objects, handling and production activities, technical characteristics of the equipment, and staff output.
