5. Conclusion
The mechanical behavior of slender, flat structures bonded by a layer of adhesive may, at first glance, seem straightforward to grasp, given the potential simplifications on stress and strain tensors carried by the specific geometry. However, for more than a century now, a large number of published studies have shown that the mathematical treatment of differential equations induced by simplifying assumptions is complex, so that the field of application of analytical formulas is restricted. The use of semi-analytical resolutions is necessary to extend the scope of simplified modeling, even in a one-dimensional framework. However, the choice of simplifying hypotheses is judicious, as comparisons with experimental or numerical results from refined modeling show. Research into the development of semi-analytical resolution methodologies applicable to simplified modelling enriched to be even...
