5. Anti-icing and similarity

There are no rules governing the similarity of hot-air (picolo tubes) or electric de-icing systems. Wind tunnel tests are carried out using so-called hybrid models (figure 19 ): the leading edge of the wing is retained and the profile is then truncated to obtain a reduced-size model.
