4. Preparing synthetic analogues: biomimetic nanocrystalline apatites
Synthetic nanocrystalline apatites are of undeniable interest for the development of bioactive bone substitutes, taking advantage of their surface reactivity, or for the use of apatite nanocrystals to study in detail the formation, evolution and properties of bone mineral under conditions simulating a normal or pathological biological context. Furthermore, the study of these crystals requires complementary characterization techniques and the development of analytical methodologies adapted to the study of these biomimetic apatites, which are poorly crystallized and metastable.

Unlike hydroxyapatite, which can be synthesized by various "high-temperature" methods (solid-solid reaction, hydrothermal route, etc.)
