5. Prospects for further development

This section has two objectives:

  • summarize the main pre-reflective skills highlighted by our experiential approach to invention;

  • suggest avenues for further exploration of each of these skills, which can still be largely clarified (we won't go back over the avenues for exploration of stages 5 and 6 of the creative micro-process, already mentioned).

5.1 What is the fundamental know-how of the inventors interviewed?

We believe that a cross-cutting skill underpins all the skills associated with technical invention: the ability to pay attention to one's own experience, to "what's going on inside oneself". The four facets of this know-how are detailed in the following paragraphs....
