INTRODUCTION
The production of heat from wood is a familiar phenomenon, if only for a barbecue or in a fireplace. However, a number of developments are underway, particularly with a view to promoting the use of renewable energies. High-performance systems adapted to different needs are available today, and are regularly optimized.
This article, divided into two sections [BE 8 747] and , provides an overview of wood as a fuel and the various systems for producing energy in the form of heat or electricity.
