2. Properties of titanium oxide
2.1 Physical properties
Titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) is a thermally stable white solid inorganic substance, non-flammable and sparingly soluble in usual solutions. The main physical properties of titanium dioxide are as follows:
molar mass: 79.8658 g.mol –1 ;
melting temperature: 1,855 °C ;
boiling temperature: 2,500-3,000°C ;
Mohs hardness: anatase 5.5-6; rutile 6-7 ;
average relative dielectric permittivity: anatase 45; rutile 127 ;
refractive index in air: anatase 2.55; rutile 2.75....
