TiO
2
ceramics are shaped using conventional ceramic shaping and firing processes. These materials are mainly used as dielectrics for high-performance capacitors with high values of relative dielectric constant (~100) and breakdown voltage (~100 kV.cm
–1
). Ceramic properties are highly dependent on microstructural characteristics such as grain size and shape, porosity and pore size, and the distribution of secondary phases at grain boundaries. To control these characteristics, it is necessary to monitor all stages of the ceramics manufacturing process
