1. Introduction

D-Preg dry impregnation technology, developed and patented by Fibroline, overcomes some of the drawbacks of conventional technologies for impregnating textile webs and reinforcements.

This innovative technology uses an alternating electric field to make binding and/or functional powders migrate completely dry into porous substrates such as textiles, but also into other substrates such as foams and technical papers.

The most important advantages are based on the possibility of controlling and mastering the location of powders, which in many applications enables us to limit the cost of raw materials. In addition, electrostatic technology uses very low energy consumption, thanks to the absence of liquid or solvent evaporation stages.
