1. Natural rubber cultivation
In tropical plantations, Hevea Brasiliensis, the most widespread species with around twenty subspecies, has the highest yield. It yields between 1.5 and 3 t/year per hectare, with prospects for further increases thanks to the planting of new clones. For information, 1 hectare of rubber fixes 13 tons of CO 2 per year.
