6. Chips detection in glass containers
During bottle filling at the bottling plant, the contents of the bottle may become contaminated with glass shards, putting the consumer's health at risk, with disastrous consequences for the bottler's brand image. To prevent accidents of this kind, an in-line check of filled packs is systematically carried out using a glass shards detector.
This in-line inspection system not only detects tiny shards of glass, but also metal, mineral and bone fragments, as well as high-density plastics. Based on the X-ray principle, it can inspect up to 1,000 jars per minute. The principle of X-ray detection is based on the difference in density between the above-mentioned contaminants and the surrounding environment constituted by the food product.
