6. Conclusion

Plant and animal biomass is an almost infinite reservoir that can be used to produce a multitude of biosourced products, in particular polyesters. Managing the end-of-life of biosourced products is also a crucial issue if we are to limit the accumulation of plastic waste, a problem that society at large (citizens, politicians, NGOs, manufacturers and major distributors, researchers, etc.) has largely taken on board today. Unlike many other polymers, polyesters have the unique versatility of being able to be recycled in a variety of ways (mechanical, chemical or enzymatic recycling, biodegradation, industrial or domestic composting).
