4. Conclusion

The significant increase in the occurrence of nanomaterials in everyday life, and doubts about the harmlessness of nanoparticles to health and the environment, justify a better understanding of the life cycle of these objects, and the development of new methods for characterizing their emissions. For example, the mass speciation of exposure to nanoparticles called for by recommendations on exposure limits is still lacking. These new measurement and study tools are becoming increasingly difficult to use, which in many cases explains why they are used almost exclusively by experts. Indeed, in addition to the high level of technical expertise required, the representativeness of the measurements must also be taken into account. More and more data is becoming available, however, which, when brought to the attention of the general public, is leading to increased concern about nanoparticle emissions...
