5. Choice of materials for mixed lubrication applications
The mixed lubrication regime involves local zones operating with a lubricant film, where interactions are very severe. To limit the consequences of these interactions, it is necessary to use materials (solids and liquids) whose properties are adapted to this mode of solicitation. In this section, we propose to describe the specific characteristics of these materials. The description will focus first on the materials of the parts in contact, then on the lubricant.
