4. Applications

Mixed lubrication applications can be classified into two different families: on the one hand, applications dedicated to the deliberate use of mixed lubrication (e.g. due to friction variability) and, on the other hand, applications where mixed lubrication operation is undesirable. In this case, mixed-lubrication operation is either permanent or temporary.

4.1 Voluntary use of mixed lubrication

This first application of mixed lubrication corresponds to contacts operating almost continuously in mixed lubrication mode, over virtually the entire range.
