Wireless contact

Any contact subjected to high pressure, in excess of 200 MPa.

Elastohydrodynamic (EHD) regime

The EHD lubrication regime occurs in contacts between non-conforming surfaces, subject to a punching effect. The hydrodynamic equilibrium of the lubricant film is coupled with the elastic deformation of the surfaces in contact, hence the term "elastohydrodynamic".

Isoviscous

A fluid whose viscosity does not depend on pressure.

Piezovisque

Refers to a fluid whose viscosity depends on pressure.

Newtonian fluid

Describes a fluid with purely viscous behavior. Its shear stress is proportional to its strain rate, but its viscosity coefficient is independent of strain...
