ABSTRACT

The industrial sector of metallurgy is at the origin of the production of sub-products which are rich in reusable metals. Due to their polluting nature, some of them are considered as ultimate waste and eliminated in storage centers specific for hazardous waste. In order to address this issue, an innovative process for the recycling of metallic waste has been developed based on the principles of hydrometallurgy in alkaline media.

 INTRODUCTION

The metallurgy industry produces by-products rich in recoverable metals. Due to their polluting nature, some of these by-products are considered as final waste, and are disposed of in special hazardous waste landfill sites (Class I final waste landfill sites).

Faced with this problem, an innovative process for recovering metal waste was developed using the principles of hydrometallurgy in an alkaline medium.
