6. Recent developments and innovative processes in electropolishing
Since 2015, the literature indicates a renewed interest in the academic and industrial world for electropolishing, which accompanies the deployment of metal additive manufacturing. On a national scale, the AFTER ALM (for AFTER-Additive Layer Manufacturing) project led by IRT M2P (2017-2021) aims to develop and evaluate different finishing processes for parts resulting from additive manufacturing (SLM/EBM). The project brings together major industrial contractors such as Airbus, Safran, Liebherr, Collins Aerospace, Stelia, NavalGroup and ArianeGroup. It also includes companies specialized in the production of parts by additive manufacturing (LISI Aerospace, WeAre Aerospace, Spartacus 3D, Add-up, Volum-e), surface treatment applicators (Galvanoplast, Chrome Dur Industriel, DEC SA, Satys, GIT), technology partners (Micronics, ABC Swisstech, Beckmann Institute, IREPA laser, R&D Nano, INVENTEC,...
