1. Principle and fields of application
The PIM (Powder Injection Molding) or MIP (Moulage par injection de poudres) process groups together the MIM (Metal Injection Molding) and CIM (Ceramic Injection Molding) processes for the production of metal and ceramic parts respectively. In both cases, the specificity of the process is that it relies on the injection molding technique used in plastics processing.
