This section presents some important properties of the problem and the mathematical model. These properties will enable us to classify the problem and justify the methods that can be used to solve it.
6.1 Problem complexity
The problem considered in this study is a one-dimensional cutting problem. It is an NP-hard problem in the strong sense . The proof of this property is based on the reduction of the 3-PARTITION problem to the one-dimensional cutting problem
